Dendrocrinus cf. villosus
GRI #591
This sea lily was found in the Middle Ordovician Bromide Formation of Oklahoma, a unit known for its abundant content of crinoid fossils. This sea lily grew to about 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) and this height placed it at the intermediate tier of suspension feeders. This species is very rare in the Bromide Formation (Brower & Veinus, 1982), and its stalk has a distinctive pentalobate shape in its most proximal part.
